EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique)

The mind and body work as one.

EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Technique, a combination of Meridian Energy Techniques and Talk Therapy. EFT is based on the ancient principles of acupuncture, but without the discomfort of the needles. Emotional Freedom Technique is an easy to use, non-invasive procedure that gently re-aligns the body's energy system when specific meridian points are stimulated (with percussion tapping techniques) on the body.

Unlike other therapies, you can learn this technique to use on yourself at any time, anywhere in the future.

Working on the premise that all negative emotions are caused by a disruption in the body's energy system, by working on the emotional aspects of physical ailments and disease, relief may be experienced in areas such as:-

  • headaches
  • muscular tension
  • backache
  • diabetes
  • eating disorders (including body image issues)
  • joint pain
  • constipation
  • allergies
  • asthma
  • depression
  • PMS symptoms
  • cancer
  • fibromyaligia
  • IBS
  • blood disorders
  • sleep deprivation
  • and more...

Healing is from the inside and EFT gives us a tool to help create a conducive internal atmosphere to help the body's natural healing process.

EFT is particularly effective with:-

  • fears/phobias
  • cravings and addictions (including food, alcohol, smoking...)
  • angerstress management
  • past trauma (childhood, bullying, relationship abuse)
  • PTSD
  • relationship problems

Trauma and PSTD

The mind is not able to tell the difference between what is happening in the present moment and what is a memory. It can be triggered by anything which it perceives as a threat and the body reacts instinctively in order to protect you. You may experience physical symptoms such as increased heart rate, sweating, shaking, nightmares, insomnia, mood swings, memories of destruction, pain or death, tensions or pain within the body. When you experience a traumatic event, it is stored not only in your memory but in your body also. It is not uncommon for sickness and disease to be diagnosed shortly after the experience of trauma. The mind and body operate as one.

By being guided through these emotional and physical intensities, you would recall the traumatic memory and tap on the meridian points to calm down any anxiety that may come up as a result. Your therapist is experienced in techniques such as the Tearless Trauma Technique which allows you, the client, to recall any incident in a safe and pain free environment.

All sessions are completely confidential, between Client and Therapist.
